Choose rooms that are a short distance to parking spaces, close to drive up drop-off spots, has access to secured playground or outside areas, and are near restrooms.
Divide spaces for different activities. Keep everyone visible with windows and split doors. Consider doors with delay openings and lights that are dimmable & non-fluorescent.
Helpful items include an adult-sized changing table, indoor swing, place to hide like a teepee, large muscle activities like a trampoline. Safety items include evacuation crib and wheelchairs.
Buy items similar to typical rooms and others your students enjoy. Also, have these items on hand: noise-blocking earmuffs, weighted blankets/, all sizes of diapers and spare clothing, and fidget items.
