Everything Volunteers

Volunteer recruiting, training, and retention require time and energy, yet yield a program that grows and strengthens over time. It's an ongoing process of sharing needs, building skills, nurturing commitment through shared vision and beliefs, and providing care and support. 

-Continually plant seeds of need. 

Recruit the heart, not the skill. 

-Allow opportunities "to try it out."

-Be specific. Seek a volunteer who matches a student. (See flyer below.)

 -Visit small groups to share the joy of serving in your ministry. 

- Allow the volunteers to learn from experienced volunteers. Let them to try on their own. 

-Offer fun training meetings that engage and connect.

-Share tips, podcasts, blogs, and resources you find helpful. 

-Encourage involvement in community programs to broaden experience. 

-Celebrate small victories. 

-Keep up with what's going on in your volunteers' lives. 

-Share personal details about yourself.

-Share ministry updates.

-Reinforce ministry goals and beliefs in all you do.
