Your ministry may begin with one student wishing to come to church and one volunteer willing to help. As you grow, develop guides and forms that share ministry information and outline procedures. Review the tasks you perform and the talent you have; align and streamline them to save time, money, and energy.

Guides

  • A Ministry Guide contains information helpful to everyone.
  • A Parent Guide helps families prepare for church.
  • A Volunteer Guide outlines classroom procedures and tips for serving well.

Forms

  • Keep an attendance sheet updated and take it with you whenever you leave the room.
  • Students thrive on schedules. Create one with images and post it for everyone to follow.
  • Make sure each student gets the best care by keeping positive notes on a student profile sheet.
  • Have each visitor fill out a new student form.

Tasks and Talent

  • Define the jobs currently performed and those expected with growth.
  • List your staff and volunteers along with their passions and gifts.
  • Group activities, streamline efforts, and eliminate work that doesn't advance your goals.
  • Assign roles that motivate and challenge while providing training and support.
