Volunteer recruiting, training, and retention require time and energy yet yield a program that runs smoothly. Don't let it overwhelm you; grow your team by beginning simply, continuing weekly, and strengthening monthly. It's an ongoing process of planting the seeds of need, nurturing commitment through shared vision and beliefs, and providing care and support.

Begin Simply.

Strengthen Monthly.

Continue Weekly.

-Recruit all ages who have the heart to serve without requiring experience.

-Allow new and potential volunteers to observe in a classroom.

-Train basic procedures that keep everyone safe and learning about Jesus.

-Pair volunteers with different students to find ideal matches.

Continue Weekly.

Strengthen Monthly.

Continue Weekly.

-Use challenging situations as training opportunities.

-Keep up with what's going on in volunteers' lives; share personal details about yourself.

-Reinforce ministry goals and beliefs.

-Celebrate small victories.

-Distribute flyers about a student who needs a buddy.
